Deliveries can be really long inDeath Stranding 2, with some requiring you to navigate through half the map. However, there are ways to make these deliveries feel much shorter, and that is done through the roads and monorail system.

This guide will cover the latter. Players unlock the monorail by restoring the mine during the main story progression. What the game doesn’t tell you, though, is that you’re able to expand the monorail as a side objective.

How to Expand the Monorail in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach

Players can expand the monorail system in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach byadding resources to Tracklayers.

Tracklayers are large structuresfound throughout the open worldthat allow players to deposit Chiral Crystals, Resins, and Special Alloys into them. This then leads to the monorail being repaired in that specific area.

If you’ve cringed at some of the self-referential Easter eggs in Death Stranding 2, there’s a good chance that Kojima himself is responsible.

It’s important to note that Tracklayers don’t appear on the map before finding them, and it’ll require you to explore thoroughly. I have had the most luck finding them on the outskirts of the map. Once you find a Tracklayer, their icon will be marked on the map.

Considering Tracklayers lead to a monorail station, you will most likely be able to see another Tracklayer in the distance from the one you discover. Look around your environment and observe to try and spot another Tracklayer.

Once you input all the necessary materials into a Tracklayer, that part of the Monorail system will repair itself.

How to Find Materials for the Monorail

Finding Tracklayers is just the start, as players will also need a hefty amount of Chiral Crystals, Resins, and Special Alloys to successfully repair the monorail in Death Stranding 2.

For Resins and Special Alloys, these materials can be acquired byfinding lost cargo in the open worldlabeled “Resin” or “Special Alloys.” They can also be acquired byrecycling unwanted cargoorclaiming materials from facilities and the DHV Magellan.

As for Chiral Crystals, these can actually be farmed if you know the right methods.

There are multiple ways to farm Chiral Crystals in the game. For starters, players can get a good amount ofChiral Crystals by defeating BTs.Each BT killed will result in Chiral Crystals dropping. To find an area with BTs, open your map and look for the red ghost icon.

Players can also find Chiral Crystals by exploring the open world. They are found in every region, growing from the ground, and can be easilyspotted by using Sam’s sensor.Chiral Crystals will glow yellow after using the sensor.

Lastly, make sure toexplore areas near mines. Mines are filled with Chiral Crystals, making them the perfect locations to farm this material. There are so many in fact, that it’s possible to get up to 2,000 Chiral Crystals at one mine.
