There are many games that you could imagine thatCall of Dutycould crossover with. However, we imagine the game touted as a potential for this may be more than just a little surprising for fans. With the recent release of the much-highlighted and highly troubled Season 1 Reloaded, Dataminers did what they do and came across some startling artwork.

The reveal was that of a collaboration between the Activision franchise and Games Workshop’s massively popular wargame,Warhammer 40,000(perhaps better known asWarhammer 40K). As baffling as that sounds the artwork which the Dataminers uncovered showed the crossover in the Grimdark universe set at some point in the future.
A Call of Duty/ Warhammer crossover?! Surely not?
It should be made clear that there is no official confirmation from either camp (at the time of writing), so whether this crossover will indeed happen remains to be seen. However, there have been several accounts across social media site X including@SemtexLeaks@FumoLeaksMk1who have posted various characters.

From the extent of the data files which can be seen on the account belonging to@CODWarfareForum, it would have to be believed that something is being worked on betweenCall of DutyandWarhammer 40K. But just how long will it be before we see any sort of announcement on this given this information?
As noted from the FumoLeaksMk1 account there is already speculation about who potential operators may be and suggestions have been Helewise of the Sisters of Battle and Interrogator-Chaplain Boreas of The Dark Angels. This coincides with the various loading screens which have been uncovered and only goes to further the rumours of what may be coming soon.

The Dark Angels are perhaps on trend at the moment and that is why they have potentially been chosen. With the current storyline and the release of new models, they may maybe an obvious addition to the crossover. With the all-female The Sisters of Battle, it may be that these elite warriors are seen as an ideal no-nonsense faction to take on all who stand in their way.
It is perhaps more likely that we will see a limited-time event forCall of Dutyin the near future as there has been speculation that Baton Jailer, Swamp Monster (Fenbeast), Orgre Butcher and Mummy will be the bosses. As seen on the FumoLeaksMK1 X page there are various images of these characters with the post stating that these characters will be bosses in the new event.

Whilst there may be many fans who are excited by a crossover betweenCall of DutyandWarhammer 40K, there are those hardcore fans of each franchise who are simply asking, why? What does this potential collaboration bring to both sets of fans and has it got the potential to be a success? Many appear unconvinced.
With the latest issues concerningCall of Duty’sSeason 1 Reloaded it’s clear that Activision has to attempt something to get fans back online.Warhammer 40Kdoes have a massive fanbase and that could see player numbers boosted if a collaboration was to happen between the two franchises.

It remains to be seen whether this crossover will ever come to fruition and for many fans, it probably seems completely baffling as to why it would even be considered. That being said, stranger things have happened and with the popularity ofCall of Dutyon a noticeable decline, perhaps they are looking to bring in another popular franchise to help boost popularity.
