Jeon “DangMoo” Su-jin has been signed to Liiv SANDBOX Challengers, the second team of Liiv SANDBOX for the upcoming LCK Challengers season. This marks the first time in KoreanLeague of Legendshistory that a female pro will be competing for a professional team in the LCK or LCK Challengers. There have been a couple of cases of female players playing in other regions in the past, such as the late Maria “Remilia” Creveling who played for Renegades in North America in 2016.DangMoo is a well-known Korean content creator with asizeable followingon both Twitch and YouTube. Su-jin doesn’t play only League of Legends, she also has variety and art streams complete with her own animated green-haired avatar. She is a support player, maining enchanters like Lulu and Yuumi. DangMoo peaked at around800 LP Grandmasteron the Korean server last season.

LSB announced the signing of DangMoo on December 29. However, DangMoo isn’t the only support on the roster. Hong “PlanB” Jun-seok was announced weeks ago with the rest of the roster as the team’s support, having been promoted from the organisation’s academy (third) roster.
It is currently unknown if Liiv SANDBOX Challengers plans to start DangMoo or PlanB, but it’s likely the former considering he was announced alongside the rest of the roster. DangMoo will probably begin as a substitute player.
Korean esports journalist Ashley Kang isplanning to hold an interviewwith DangMoo in the near future which might shed light on the team’s plans for the support player.
Events likethe recent Rising Stars tournamentare a part of a concerted effort by Riot Games to encourage women to enter the esports ecosystems of Riot’s games. However, these have all been woman-only tournaments. Should she play, DangMoo will be playing against the region’s best up-and-comers.
