To this day,The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimremains an experience that only a selected few in the industry can compete with. Thanks to its dedicated modding community,Skyrimhas managed to stay relevant and modernized, and it’s incredible to see what the gamers have managed to do with the game. It’s easy to forget that Bethesda ended the official support years ago.

The community-created additions have transformed the game’s look, quests, and gameplay mechanics, providing us with endless ways to enjoySkyrim. However, developer High Tale has taken things to the next level and given us a DLC-sized mod, Coven of Crones. Unfortunately, PlayStation 5 owners will be locked out of this incredible experience.

Skyrim‘s DLC-Sized Mod Will Make PlayStation Players Jealous

High Tales’ incredible creation, Coven of Crones, brings a dark storyline that’s centered aroundSkyrim‘s witch, Anise, whoheads a coven of Hags with an evil plan. In a terrifying land taken over by the forces of terror, players will come across new creatures, voice-acted quests, mysterious boss battles, and, best of all, challenging boss battles.

This DLC-sized mod also brings weather effects, original soundscapes, and weather effects to present an immersive experience that further fleshes out the world ofSkyrim. After downloading the mod, you can kick off your journey by heading to Anise’s Cabin next to Riverwood.

Currently, Coven of Crones is available for Xbox and PC users to download via the Skrim Creations menu. This is quite dissapotining for PlayStation 5 players as they can’t experience one of the best fan-made creations for the Bethesda game. However, this isn’t due to the developer’s own decisions; it’s just because PlayStation consoles have always closed off to mods.

Since its inception,Xbox has always welcomed modding on consoleswith open arms, but PlayStation has a very rough history of allowing them on its consoles. This makes sense if you think about it, as mods can prove to be the route to breaking a game or finding unmoderated additions outside the platform holder’s control.

It’s high time for PlayStation to rethink its strategy as the addition of mods to classic games, or evenhigh-profile hits, can help boost its sales number.

Bethesda Must Bring a Worthy Successor toSkyrim

It’s been 13 years since the release ofSkyrim, and it’s great to see that it’s still thriving. However, it’s time for the game’s sequel,The Elder Scrolls 6, to debut; otherwise, Bethesda might lose all its momentum.

Todd Howard and his team announcedThe Elder Scrolls 6six years ago. Even though the 30-second trailer didn’t give us much, it kickstarted the excitement for the project. Although Bethesda still hasn’t revealed much,it’s already confirmed that the title has entered into development.

“The best game we’ve ever made”: Bethesda Boss Calls Starfield a “Technical Marvel” Better Than Skyrim and Fallout, Todd Howard’s Other 2 Masterpieces

Given what we know about the company’s development timeline forStarfield, which started in the latter half of 2017, at the earliest, and debuted in late 2023, it’s safe to assume thatThe Elder Scrolls 6won’t see the light of the day until 2028.

The Elder Scrolls 6will truly test if Bethesda still has what it takes to craft a generational hit. The last couple of years haven’t proven to be good for the company, asFallout 76andStarfieldwere massive blunders. Even thoughBethesda tried to redeem itself with the Shattered Space DLC, it proved to be another failure.

The community’s trust in Howard and his team is at an all-time low. Let’s hope Bethesda can sort out itself and finally craft a worthySkyrimsuccessor. Otherwise, it won’t be long before it ends up likeFirewalk Stduios after the disaster ofConcord.
