Warning - Spoilers ahead
Morbius, the living vampire has a brand-new second trailer for fans to feast their eyes on and this second dose has raised some interesting questions surrounding the character’s future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one being if Jared Leto’s bloodsucker will meet the upcoming Mahershala Ali’s vampire hunter, Blade.

Daniel Espinosa’s origin film will follow the story of scientist Michael Morbius’ journey to find the cure for a rare blood disease that he suffers from. The cure? Ironically, the dangerous but possibly effective cure has some major vampiric side effects.
Could we see Morbius vs Blade in the MCU’s future?
Sony’s ongoing working relationship with Marvel has opened the door to allow Spider-Man characters to exist within the MCU, and why should it stop with Venom and Spidey himself?
Viewers ofVenom: Let There Be Carnagewere spoiled with an end-credits scene, which confirmed that Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock would be meeting his iconic web-slinging adversary in live-action form sometime in the future.
With the upcomingMorbiusfilm being distributed by Sony in association with Marvel, and Ali’sBladereboot standing firmly under Marvel’s umbrella, there is a high chance that the MCU will have a bloody battle up ahead.
Morbius and Blade’s crossover history
The nostalgic animated series of Spider-Man from the 90s featured a small appearance of Morbius and Blade, but the characters have not met on the live-action scene yet.
The first live-actionBladeinstallment, starring Wesley Snipes, featured a deleted alternate ending that actually set up Morbius to be the villain of the 2002 sequel. However, director Guillermo del Toro favored the vampire hunter blasting through a band of Reapers instead.
Who would win the fight?
More often than not, many hyped battles in live-action cinema tend to shy away from having one clear winner, but if we had to pick, our money would be on Blade.
Morbius has a litany of enhanced reflexes that could easily dodge Blade’s arsenal of weapons, but the vampire hunter’s passion to rid the world of vampires could allow Blade to get creative and use sunlight and the creature’s thirst for blood against him.
If this live-action battle were to take place shortly after Morbius’ narrative, this would mean that Michael is still coming to terms with his abilities - despite having astute intelligence - giving Blade the upper hand when it comes to knowledge and experience.
