Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind popular games likeAlan WakeandControlrecently delivered a thrilling and immersive gaming experience withAlan Wake 2. The game has been acclaimed by gamers and critics for its creative storytelling, horrifying and exciting game world, and more, and it seems like the developer wants to keep the momentum going.

The company has recently applied for a new trademark under the goods and services tag, suggesting that it could have also begun development of the game. This has led to fans speculating about the game and if it could be the name for Remedy’s cooperative shooter spinoff forControl.
Remedy Entertainment Files Trademark for Its Alleged New Game
Remedy Entertainment filed the‘FBC: Firebreak’ trademarkon August 20, 2025, with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) under the goods and services tag with sub-tags like Computer gaming software; Computer game discs; Downloadable computer game programs; Recorded computer game programs; Interactive computer game programs, and more.
All these above-mentioned tags suggest that FBC: Firebreak could be a video game but there are also other tags such as clothing, photography, audio, video, and multimedia production, meaning that FBC: Firebreak could also be coming in formats such as a movie or TV series. Fans are speculating that the alleged game is the multiplayer shooter title from Remedy codenamedCondor.

The game is set in the 2019’sControluniverse and both FBC and Firebreak are terms in the game. Firebreak refers to a boundary area that restricts paranormal creatures from entering real places and FBC is the short form for Federal Bureau of Control, an organization inControlthat controls supernatural entities. While many think it is the multiplayer shooter, some also believe that it could be related to other games such asControl 2orAlan Wake 2DLC that is in development at Remedy.
Condorhas been in development since 2021 and was also rumored to enter the“production readiness”stage last year. The game is said to be a PvE, four-player multiplayer title where players will play against the environment and fight the supernatural enemies fromControl. The name of the trademark does not suggest that this could be connected toCondorbut it is what is speculated so it is advised to take everything with a grain of salt until official confirmation arrives.

The sequel toControlwas also announced alongsideCondorunder the codenameHeronso the trademark might also be connected to it. Moreover, the trademark is also being connected withAW2DLC as the Federal Bureau of Control is present in the game, and bothControlandAlan Wakeare set in the same universe. Also, many ofAlan Wake 2‘s events connect toControl‘s events.
Although it can not be said exactly how FBC: Firebreak will be connected to these games, it might have the game’s events as stories. If FBC: Firebreak is indeedControl‘s spinoff multiplayer title then it is important to know that Remedy has not developed any multiplayer game yet and several live-service multiplayer games did not do well in recent times so it’d have a challenge. However, considering how well the studio has done with its titles, it can surely replicate the success.
