Festival tokens in the context of Clair Obscur are tokens that can be acquired at the festival after theGommage, which is a celebration of sorts before Expedition 33 set off for the mainland.
Here, you’ll find three marquees pitched in the area, each with an NPC willing to offer you something in exchange for aFestival Token.
You’ll begin this scene with oneFestival Token, but you are able to acquire enough to purchase all three optional items. However, you’ll need to know where to look and who to speak to.
How To Acquire Festival Tokens
As mentioned, you’ll have one of the three available tokens already, so you only need to source two of them. Here’s how to go about getting them.
A Quiz With Antoine
The first can be acquired by talking to Antoine, the bald man in the light grey suit near the market stalls. If you speak to them, they will challenge you to a little Expedition history quiz, which is very simple and can be repeated as many times as needed, so don’t stress too much.

A Rematch With Maelle
After speaking to Antoine, you’ll want to head down to the water’s edge and speak to Maelle who will be looking out toward the Monolith.
She will ask you for a rematch after your earlier duel, and you’ll want to accept this offer.
This will lead to a fight that plays out much like the first, but don’t worry, you would really have to go out of your way to lose this one.
Just useLumiere Assaultto charge yourOverchargemeter and then useOverchargeto melt their HP. After you beat them, they will award you the final Token you need.
Trading In Your Tokens
After you have all three, you can trade them in for items in the various market stalls nearby. Here is a quick rundown of the items you will receive:
Weird Pictos
Traded with a Gestral in the Gestral Village later in the game for an upgraded version ofAugmented Aim
Bun Haircut (Gustav)
A cosmetic item allowing you to change Gustav’s haircut
AnOld Keythat can be used on an Old Door in Old Lumiere to access a hidden Expedition Journal
Of all the items listed here,the onethat is vital you pick up is theOld Key, as this is an item that will ensure you may access all the journals in the game. Without this key, you will lock yourself out of potentially getting the ‘Follow The Trail’ achievement.
The other items are nice to have, and you might as well pick them up as it requires very little effort. But, if you don’t, it won’t be a huge issue later down the line.
