Steve Rogers, along with Tony Stark and Thor, was one of the protagonists of the Infinity Saga, with an arc that spanned seven films. The path that Steve Rogers found himself on, was figuring out who he was outside of being a soldier.

Captain Britain

Needless to say, as of the end ofAvengers: Endgame, Steve Rogers had been implied to have lived a peaceful life with his partner, Peggy Carter. However, a new theory has surfaced, proving that you might be able to take the soldier out of the fight, but you can’t take the fight out of the soldier.

A new theory has stated that Captain America might have returned in time to return the artefacts and then spend his life with Peggy Carter, but that does not necessarily mean he has to do so in hiding. The theory that has come to light suggests that Captain Rogers might have taken up a separate superhero identity, possibly when he moved countries to stay with Agent Carter. There, the Captian could have picked up some more powers, and become the country’s premiere superhero: Captain Britain.

Steve Rogers might have changed his name to Brian Braddock.

Steve Could have changed his name to Brian Braddock, a character Peggy referenced inEndgame. Brian Braddock is the first character in Marvel Comics to uphold the title of Captain Britain. While native to the UK, Captain Britain is part of a bigger corp of multiversal characters, called the Captain Britain Corp, who defend their local version of Britain from threats.

Given that the MCU has been swerving towards the Multiverse, and it seems to adhere to the many worlds’ interpretation of it, Captain Britan can have an alternate backstory, linking Steve Rogers to Brian Braddock.

Steve Rogers: Soldier Supreme

This would also explain why Captain Britain has not been a public figure in the MCU, and why Steve Rogers has not been an active player since he returned in time. Not only has the character been dealing with the multiverse, but it could also be that he eventually takes up the mantle of Captain Avalon later in life, becoming its protector. Given the King Arthur-type quality of the story of Captain America, this could be a fitting way to continue his story, without retconning established MCU canon.

Steve Rogers has wielded magic before

DuringInfinity Wars, a storyline in the comics where the entire Marvel Universe was folded in half, a multitude of characters found themselves fused to create all new and exciting fusions. There was Iron Hammer, fusing Thor with Iron Man. Another fusion was that of Moon Knight and Spider-Man, called Archknight.

There is also the Fantastic Two, featuring Reed and Ben Storm, brothers that have the powers of Mr Fantastic/Invisible Woman and The Thing/Human Torch respectively. Among these characters is Stephen Rogers, Soldier Supreme. Captain America was fused with none other than Doctor Strange, making the characters a lot more similar to Captain Britain.

Ditching Project Rebirth for Magic, this interaction of Doctor Strange/Captain America finds himself fighting Dormamu Red, an amalgamation of Red Skull and the ruler of the Dark Dimension. Here, instead of being frozen for decades, Steve fights the Ruler in an alternate dimension, keeping him engaged, much like Doctor Strange did in his 2016 cinematic outing.
