Call of Duty – Bringing Back Akimbo Shotguns
Warzonehas seen many changes throughout Season 3.From various weapon adjustments to the return of Rebirth Island, players have been filled with content over the last month or so.
A new season is now on the horizon and obviously, bigger changes are going to be introduced. The SPAS-12 has been a staple shotgun for the franchise sinceModern Warfare 2in 2009.

#MW3: ‘AKIMBO’ SPAS-12’s are coming in Season 4!💥 Leakers claim the rumoured ‘SPAS-12’ will feature an ‘Akimbo’ attachment — it will be chaos!pic.twitter.com/A0gUqdsvPh
Players of that same game might remember the Akimbo attachment and how much of a nightmare it was, specifically on the 1887 shotguns.

Before Infinity Ward patched it out, the Akimbo 1887 shotguns would have players run around the map instantly one-shotting their opponent. In combination with the gun’s power and perksMW2offered, it made the multiplayer so toxic.

Almost unplayable if you weren’t using the dual shotguns yourself. The weapon is still regarded as one of the most overpowered guns in all ofCoDhistory.
Will Akimbo Shotguns Ruin Call of Duty Again?
For the first time ever, the SPAS-12 can now become Akimbo shotguns. The franchise has not shied away from the attachment and continues to implement it in current installments. However, with the history this attachment has on shotgun specifically, can Season 4 have a rough start?
There is potential the SPAS-12 can be broken with the Akimbo attachment but don’t hold your breath.CoDdevelopers have learned time and time again to adjust guns and weapons appropriately to ensure players stay in the servers.

Akimbo shotguns will likely not ruinCall of Dutyagainbut keep an eye on these new weapons if they make it intoWarzoneSeason 4.Modern Warfare 3only has one Akimbo attachment and it’s for the WSP Swarm which is understandable from a balancing perspective.

With so many guns and weapons to choose from, attachments add an extra layer of balancing to keep track of. Let’s hope the return of Akimbos does not mean another nightmare multiplayer experience for the series.
Players who are looking to finish the Season 3 Battle Pass should do it soon. If everything stays on track,Call of Duty: WarzoneSeason 4 is expected to drop at the end of this month on May 29.
