The past decade hasn’t been great forBurnoutfans. After 2008’sBurnout Paradise, EA seemed to give up on the series outside a divisive mobile game. While fans were greeted withBurnout Paradise Remasteredlast March, fans of destructive racing games have been out of luck for new experiences. Fortunately, that seems like it will be changing this April as Three Fields Entertainment will be releasingDangerous Drivingfor PC, PS4, and Xbox One on April 9.

Three Fields Entertainment’s founders, Alex Ward and Fiona Sperry, were actually the founders ofBurnoutdeveloper Criterion Games. They stuck with that studio from its creation in 2000 until January 2014, leaving as Criterion was moved off theNeed for Speedseries. Many have been hoping for Three Fields Entertainment to make a game likeDangerous Drivingsince the studio’s inception and in April we’ll finally be getting it. Over the past five years, the developer has releasedDangerous Golf, Lethal VR,andDanger Zone 1 and 2.

As you can probably tell,Dangerous Drivingserves as a spiritual successor toBurnout.Just as avidBurnoutfans would hope,Dangerous Driving’smodes are mostly centered around destruction as well as racing. Takedown has players focus on taking out other cars while Heatwave, Eliminator, and Road Rage destroying as much as possible while staying alive themselves.

The game even features a Pursuit Mode where players can take control of the cops attempt to stop the reckless drivers, which should also please fans of games likeNeed for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Three Fields Entertainment has also confirmed thatDangerous Drivingwill feature 30 tracks spread across seven different locales at launch and that the game is set to have online play as well.

Dangerous Drivingwill actually be available both digitally and physically on consoles, with publisher Maximum Games providing support for the retail release. Digital versions of the game will cost $29.99 while gettingDangerous Drivingphysically ups the price to $39.99 but also bundlesDanger Zone 2in as a bonus.
