But the season finale takes us to a place few could have anticipated. If you thought you hadColin Farell’s Oz Cobb figured out, the shocking final moments will leave you questioning everything you thought you knew about the man under the Penguin mask.

Oz Cobb and Sofia Falcone (Cristin Milioti) face off in a battle that will ultimately determine who will rule Gotham. While the stakes couldn’t be higher, it’s not just the mob war that drives the tension. The real emotional punch comes from the destruction of Oz’s relationships.

The tragic relationship between Oz and Victor, built over the season, makes Victor’s death a devastating turn.

Among the many relationships explored inThe Penguin, the most compelling is the one between Oz and his young mentee, Victor Aguilar (Rhenzy Feliz). But in the finale, loyalty is nothing more than a death sentence. Oz—whom we’ve watched manipulate, use, and discard people without a second thought—does the unthinkable. Hekills Vic, the very man who helped him secure victory, the man who trusted him like a father figure.

Fans are stunned and outraged by Vic’s death, with many now demanding Batman confront Oz in Batman Part II.

The betrayal cuts deep because, as viewers, we’ve been invested in their dynamic throughout the series.

Naw I feel like everyone knew it was coming. But it was mad evil still

I saw something coming, but not like that. Like I swear I never wanted to punch my damn screen so bad. Excellent writing on their part, but that was HORRIBLE to experience on an emotional level. He’s evil as fuck.

I can’t believe they tricked us like this! Vic was loyal from the start, and now Bruce has to face the consequences in Part II!

I haven’t watched the entirety of the Penguin, but damn that was so brutal.

The emotional toll of this shocking death is leaving a serious dent in Oz’s already complicated character arc. Now, all fans can think about is seeing Batman finally give the Penguin a taste of his own medicine inBatman Part II. If there was ever a moment that made us want Gotham’s Dark Knight to bring justice, it was this one.

So, as we wait for the inevitable showdown, all we can say is: RIP, Vic—and Bruce, please, do what needs to be done!
