That said, what lies ahead seems even more promising: the impending revelation of Captain Zaraki Kenpachi’s true abilities and awe-inspiring Bankai.

Of all the captains and characters in Bleach, Zaraki Kenpachi is the only one who doesn’t have a proper Bankai (the second phase of a sword’s release, which gives the Shinigami user additional powers). However, Zaraki seems to have returned a changed man after his duel to the death with Captain Retsu Unohana, the original owner of the Kenpachi title (a title given to the strongest Shinigami warriors).
After Zaraki defeats her, he inherits her title from its original owner and sets out to prove his new powers against the Sternritter who claims to be the strongest: Gremmy Thoumeaux.

It’s expected that Zaraki’s fight with Geremy will take more than one episode, since the fight between them spans chapters 571-578 in the manga. But what fans should pay attention to here is Geremy. Geremy’s power allows him to do anything he can imagine and “make illusions come true”. Zaraki, on the other hand, has a simple, raw fighting style that doesn’t rely on imagination or illusion, or any form of cunning intelligence.
In other words, Zaraki would be fighting against what could be called his antithesis. Needless to say, manga readers already know how the battle will end, but how Zaraki will actually overcome Geremy’s vivid illusions and outrageous reality alteration is still worth anticipating in anime form.
