Shunsui Kyoraku in the latest episode of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War

Shunsui Kyoraku is a menace and his Bankai reflects just how threatening he can be. Those who were already familiar with the manga and how things progress, were psyched to see the Head Captain unleash his true powers. Whether it’s the visual aspects or the thrill of every attack, the latest fight has lived up to the hype.

It’s a shame how it’s not getting the same attention from the internet as the Gear 5 or Ultra Instinct reveal. However, that doesn’t diminish the spectacular display of power we got to witness in the most recent episode. Here’s why this fight is so important and deserves more excitement from the fandom.

The Internet is Sleeping on the Latest TYBW Episode; It’s Honestly Comparable To Gear 5 and Ultra Instinct

The episode begins with Shunsui taking on Lille, despiteShinji asking everyoneto not fall into the Quincies’ trap. From that moment on to the last minute of the episode, there are numerous twists. Lille reveals right away that he’s familiar with Shunsui’s power, but it doesn’t faze the Head Captain in the least. He continues to strike Lille with his best attacks while maintaining an air of ease.

As dark and grave as theatmosphere of the episodewas, seeing Shunsui pounce from every surface possible was adrenaline-inducing. When Nanao reaches Shinji, Urahara, and the others to inform them about Shunsui’s battle, Shinji perfectly puts his position as the Head Captain into words. Shunsui was carrying a similar burden and fighting an equally dangerous battle. While every scene of the episode was brilliant in its own way, the moment Shunsui unveiled his Bankai, excitement went through the skies. He was fighting a serious fight that was as damaging to him as it was for his opponent. The final slash was akin to a mic drop, where he showed why he’s the Head Captain.

It’s a shame that the internet is not partaking in the excitement ofBleachfans, but this scene deserves it’s own internet breaking moment. While that didn’t happen, this fight made the compatibility between Shunsui and his Bankai crystal clear.

Shunsui Having the Deadliest Bankai is a Match Made in Heaven

Shunsui has always been a morally gray character who shouldn’t be fully trusted. He was extremely perceptive and self-aware of the evils he was partaking in. Yet he followed through with what he believed in or at least did everything he deemed would lead to the greater good. No matter how severe a situation is, Shunsui maintains an air of ease and never loses his composure, all this while knowing the depths of hell.

His Bankai is deadly and a double-edged sword, but it brings games to life. It balances the same two traits that make Shunsui so interesting as a character. The menace balanced by playfulness perfectly defines Shunsui, which makes his Bankai the most suitable for him. As for the episode, yes, a few re-watches wouldn’t really hurt!
