While coming from a family of actors comes with expectations, BillSkarsgårdhas already established his own path. The son of StellanSkarsgård, Bill first crept into homes onHemlock Grovefrom the mind of Eli Roth. Soon after, he became an icon for fans of Stephen King, developing popular characters inItandCastle Rock. In 2024, Bill is having a career year. 7Deadpool 2(2018)

The Crow’s Bill Skarsgård Sets Internet Ablaze, Hints Return to Another Iconic Role

In a short but incredible sequence,Skarsgårdjoins the X-Force. Played mainly for laughs, Skasgard shines in a sequence that includes Brad Pitt and Terry Crews. However, the power set of the character and a grisly ending allow him to essentially play his character as big as he can. It amounts to little more than a cameo, but he’s memorable as hell in a movie, throwing a lot at the wall. It’s one of the ongoing scenes inDeadpool 2that sticks.

6Boy Kills World(2024)

While there was a cut that once hadSkarsgårdprovide the narration,Boy Kills Worldopted for a funnier version. While this hurts its overall ranking, his non-verbal performance allows him to perfectly deploy his lonely-boy vibe. He brings incredible heart out of the performance, quickly standing out as an action star. It’ll be curious to see if he takes more of these roles in the future because he’s got the chops to pull it off.

5Nine Days(2020)

“Finally…”: Call of Duty Season 5 Reloaded Leaked Operator Gives Us a Bill Skarsgard Skin We’ll All Be Using

Nine Daysdoes not always give Skarsgård the floor, but he subtly turns in a strong supporting role.He wisely blends into the story, letting Zazie Beetz and Winston Duke take most of the oxygen. Yet Skarsgård creates a compelling, pessimistic, yet hopeful character. While the audience wants to root for Beetz, Skarsgård makes the case for why his character should get a chance at life. It’s the kind of supporting work you rarely see from stars on the rise, and Skarsgård excels as an overqualified character actor forNine Days.

4John Wick: Chapter 4(2023)

Coming into theJohn Wickfranchise after three previous entries, Skarsgård takes on a big role. As Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont – a member of the High Table – he establishes himself as a unique antagonist. He’s loathsome for his arrogance and approach to life. Yet we can also feel the fear coursing through his performance. The bravado is an extension of his power, and as he loses control, he slowly crumbles in this regard. Skarsgård perfectly turns into a dangerous but pathetic character that we rarely get to enjoy in blockbusters like this one.

3Villains(2019)

An underseen gem of the Skarsgård experience,Villainsputs the young actor opposite Maika Monroe, Jeffrey Donovan, and Kyra Sedgwick. The four performers each bring a unique lens to the black comedy, with Skarsgård skirting the line between criminal and hero. It’s an incredibly charming and emotionally complex role, proving that he can lead unique stories across genres. It’s great to see him out of the horror bubble, even thoughVillainsundeniably has those elements. The comedy and romance aspects make this a winning performance that should help him transition into the mainstream.

2Barbarian(2022)

The credit forBarbarianoften goes to director Zach Cregger. However, Skarsgård makes incredible choices to make us distrust his character from the word go. Using his reputation in horror to his advantage, Skarsgård excels. It’s an incredibly fine line to walk and it proves that he is not only an excellent performer in every role. He clearly understands how his image and reputation play to the camera.

1It: Chapter 1(2017)

“I don’t want to spoil it. Maybe”: Fans Are Convinced Bill Skarsgård’s Latest Comment on Pennywise’s Return is a Spoiler For Welcome to Derry

There was not much debate around the number one slot. Not only has Skarsgård established himself as a horror icon for years to come, but there was legitimate discussion about pushing him for awards nominations. It’s a stunning and terrifying portrayal that earned its plaudits. He commits fully to the role, and his ability to shift between deeply scary and alluring makes it one of horror’s very best performances over the last decade. It’s even more exciting thathe’s returning forWelcome to Derryin 2025.

The Crowis in theaters on July 02, 2025.Nosferatuopens on August 05, 2025.Boy Kills Worldis on VOD and coming to streaming soon.
