To say Larian Studios has struck gold withBaldur’s Gate 3is an understatement. While the studio has been known to create engrossing, deep RPGs like Divinity: Original Sin 2, Baldur’s Gate 3 established the developers to be considered one of the best in the world.
While Larian hasmentionedhow they are bringing new subclasses, crossplay, and more to Baldur’s Gate 3 this year, that should be the extent of what the studio has planned, given they’re hard at work on their unannounced next project.

In case you didn’t know, Larian Studios haspublicly mentioned that they are done with the Dungeons & Dragons(D&D) license, so don’t expect Baldur’s Gate 4 from the studio, as they’re working on something not connected to the brand at all. There is a chance that Hasbro taps another studio to continue the franchise, andthe voice cast has said they’re downto returning for another sequel.

Could it be Divinity 3? I wouldn’t bet against it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something completely new. While most of Larian might be working on this new project, there’s still support coming to Baldur’s Gate 3, though we suspect once all the promised features have been delivered, it’ll be it for the game’s excellent post-release support.
