If you thought that was the end ofBaldur’s Gate 3, Samantha Béart and Tracy Wiles, who play Karlach and Jaheira, have some hopeful news for fans who want nothing more than the franchise to continue. The actors confessed that they’d be up for carrying the incredible fantasy saga on if they were presented with a script that was just as good as the first.
Although Larian Studio has previously stated that they don’t have any plans to make a sequel, it seems as though the actors are keen to still be involved, even if another developer was at the helm.

Larian’s Pivot Away From Baldur’s Gate 3 Is The Right Move
Larian has too much talent to be making someone else’s game.
“Let’s see what you’ve got, Wizards.”
In anexclusive with The Gamer, Samantha Béart and Tracy Wiles said they would be willing to return to future titles if the script was good because the writing was so powerful in Baldur’s Gate 3. “The writing was so strong on this,” Béart said, “So, let’s see what you’ve got. Let’s see what you’ve got, Wizards.” Béart and Wiles both seem to share the same ethos as they chant together, with a little giggle, “Show me the script.” Although Wiles does state that she “can’t imagine” coming back without Ruairí Moore, who wrote for Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3, she still has left herself “open” to the possibility.
Béart and Wiles aren’t the only ones eager to hop back into their roles. The beloved Astarion, played by Neil Newborn, who won Best Performance at 2023’s The Game Awards, talked excitedly about picking the Pale Elf’s gauntlet back up again. “If anyone ever made me an offer to do so, I’d jump at the chance.” Newborn continues, “He’s a wonderful character to play. If somebody ever turned around and said, ‘Hey, do you want to do it again?’ I’d be saying yes. I’m not done with him yet.”

During the Game Developer Conference in March this year, Larian Studios head Swen Vincke broke many BG3 fans' hearts when he announced that the highly popular fantasy game wouldn’t be making a comeback. Speaking toIGN, Vincke said “There were a lot of constraints in making D&D, and the 5th Edition is not an easy system to put into a video game, and we had all these ideas of new combat that we wanted to try out, and so they were not compatible,” Vincke continued, “You could see the team was doing it because everybody felt like we had to do it.”.
So it seems as though the shoe has been placed firmly onto the Wizards of the Coast foot regarding what its possible plans could be for the Baldur’s Gate 3 franchise, as there are so many potential storylines and character arcs they could take. And making the development even easier, its top actors are even willing to jump on board - providing its story mirrors what made it so successful to begin with.
