Atomic Heart is one of the promising indie titles that has already made a name for itself thanks to its stellar showcases in previous live events such as Gamesome 2022, and while it was targeting a Q4 2022 release, it seems like the release date has been shifted to earlier 2023.

Mundfish Studio is the developer behind Atomic Heart and was supposed to self-publish the game, but it was recently announced that Focus Entertainment has reached an agreement with the developers to take the helm for publishing Atomic Heart worldwide.

Regarding the fact that Winter 2022 begins almost at the final week of the year, it is unlikely to see Atomic Heart launch between December 21 and December 31 as publishers usually avoid launching big titles in the final weeks of the year. So, we can expect the game to arrive earlier next year as Winter 2022 ends later in March 2023.

Julien Ramette, chief business development officer at Focus Entertainment, revealed that the team at Mundfish is currently working on polishing the game and a specific release date for the game is set to be announced shortly. There aren’t many big third-party showcases ahead, but we might get a new look at the game during The Game Awards 2022 which is supposed to go live later this year.

Atomic Heart will be a fully single-player story-driven experience set in an alternative Cold War era. The player is tasked to investigate a Soviet Union facility responsible for producing robots. Due to unknown reasons, the facility has been abandoned, and the robots have turned rogue, who will be your main enemies in this dystopian first-person adventure.
