Wickedhas managed to stake a claim for the joint second-highest number of Academy Awards this time around, being in the run in 10 categories. While Erivo and Grande have managed to waltz their way into the nominations list for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively, it has also made headway in other categories.

Wickedhas been nominated for Best Picture, Editing, Original Score, Production Design, Costume Design, Visual Effects, Sound, and Makeup and Hairstyling in the 2025 Oscars. While the director, John M. Chu’s exclusion might have many fans in a spot of bother, it is a moment to celebrate theDon’t Look Upstar. And she couldn’t be more thrilled.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, she wrote,
I cannot stop crying, to no one’s surprise. I’m humbled and deeply honored to be in such brilliant company and sharing this with tiny ari who sat and studied Judy Garland singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow just before the big, beautiful bubble entered. I’m so proud of you, tiny.
