Fans of the Soulslike genre have ratedElden Ringquite high up the order as the impressive game is still being played and replayed by several gamers. When the first DLC for the game was announced last year, fans couldn’t be more hyped to continue the saga and look forward to more boss fights.

The developers at FromSoftware Inc. have not announced an official release date for the DLC even as rumors indicated a late February release. While Reddit forums are already filled with more similar rumors, a gamer on one of the forums has taken a rather peculiar source for an expected release date of the DLC.
Fan Decodes a Swift Song For Elden Ring DLC Release Date
A gamer has gone down a peculiar rabbit hole to get hints at the release date forElden Ring‘s first DLC,Shadow of the Erdtree. Not many gamers would have thought of rummaging through a Taylor Swift song titledIvy, in such detail as this gamer’s post on Reddit.
ARedditorwith the ID Jiatao24 has done “hours of detailed analysis” on the song Ivy by Taylor Swift to conclude that the lyrics speak about Ranni the Witch and Vyke, a Tarnished warrior from Elden Ring. As per the original poster, Swift’s song includes clues that “conclusively determine the release date of the Shadows of the Erdtree DLC.”

Starting with the first few lines, the Redditor mentions the presence of the word “Tarnished” in the lyrics. Then there are the words “incandescent glow” which was linked to a reference to the Guidance of Grace. Elaborating further, it was said to reference the glow when players touch the site of grace in the Church of Elleh.
After several more phrases and words were linked to the game and the characters, the stanza that starts with “Clover blooms in the fields” is said to reference the official poster of Shadow of the Erdtree that also features a field.

This was followed by the ultimate reference to the release date of the DLC, linking it to the line “Spring breaks lose, but so does fear“. The Redditor goes on to link this line to the start of the Spring season, around the 19th of March.
The clutching at straws is even more evident after the post links the name of the song,Ivyto the Roman Numeral IV, and going on to mention it could also indicate the release date to be around April. The exact date predicted by the original poster was the 13th of April this year.

Ivy Was Released Two Years Before Elden Ring
The song, Ivy, is part of Taylor Swift’s albumEvermore, released in 2020, two years before the gameElden Ringwas released in 2022. Disregarding that fact, it’s still a worthy but what could very well be a frivolous effort at decoding a release date for the upcoming DLC.
The Reddit post was filled with the expected sarcastic and funny comments as one of the comments downright called it “honestly saddening” while another called the Redditor the “Least obsessed Swiftie“.

The Reddit post so far has close to 400 comments and everyone who commented would be returning to the post if the DLC indeed comes out in either of the predicted dates.
Recently, a quiet update to thegame, one that’s come after two years has also hinted at what could be the DLC update itself,so whilst the fan may not be quite right, the DLC isn’t far away.
