Best known for his as Detective Frank Pembleton inHomicide: Life on the Street(1993–1999) and Captain Raymond Holt inBrooklyn Nine-Nine(2013–2021), Bruagher has left an indelible legacy in the industry. However, a new report reveals a dark secret he kept just like the late Marvel actor, Chadwick Boseman.

Hollywood is mourning the demise of lateAndre Braugher, who was previously revealed to have been suffering from a brief illness. However, longtime publicist, Jennifer Allen, has recently confirmed to various media outlets including theNew York Timesthat his death was not unexpected, citing,“lung cancer”as the reason after being diagnosed with the disease several months ago.

Given that the actor liked to keep his personal life private, not many medical records about his condition were unveiled. However, back in 2014, he told the outlet that he had“stopped drinking alcohol and smoking years ago.”

The 61-year-old late actor got his Hollywood breakthrough in the 1989 filmGlorystarring Denzel Washington and Morgan Freeman. From then on, he kept on moving forward. For his work in the NBC police drama,Homicide: Life on the Streetfor seven seasons, he won the first two career Emmys.

Meanwhile, the cast ofBrooklyn Nine-Ninepaid tribute to the late 61-year-old actor earlier this week. Terry Crews took toInstagramto bid his farewell to the former.

“I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you, and shared 8 glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent. This hurts.”

Meanwhile, Dirk Blocker also shared condolences by writing onInstagram,

“Fiercely intelligent, remarkably kind, supportive, generous and possessed a deep and extraordinary talent, and had even more to offer… My heartfelt condolences go out to his family.”

This news surely came as a shock to everyone as he kept his medical condition a secret just like MCU actor,Chadwick Bosemanwho did the same.

Chadwick Boseman gained global recognition for his portrayal of King T’Challa aka the Black Panther, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Other than the superhero genre, he had already developed a solid foundation through his work in television and films.

However, the actor tragically passed away at the age of 43 in 2020. After his demise, it was later revealed that the actor was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 however he chose to not let this information get public. While smiling in public, he kept on battling with his medical condition for years as it progressed to Stage IV.

That truly broke the fans’ hearts which is something Hollywood is facing yet again due to the demise of Andre Braugher. However, their legacy will continue through their work.
