But most of all, it truly lives up to its much-deserved hype amidst the top giants including the big three of Shonen. There is, however, a new series in the block which is set to rival Jump’s magnum opuses.

With its teaser,Sakamoto Dayslooks more than promising in many aspects. Be it animation or score, the series is set to notch up the standards of Shonen in every way possible. This also points to the beginning of an era of new-age anime.

Sakamoto Daysis set to sweep fans off their feet with its teaser

From its premise to well-written charactersSakamoto Daysis a complete treat. Visually, several fans have praised the manga for its humor and action sequences.

But what sets it apart from other Shonen series is its perfect blend of action and humor. The series isn’t a bog-standard hitman saga in any case. Unlike the cliche shonen tropes, Yuto Suzuki gives his twist to the genre.

Re: Zero Season 3’s Upcoming Episode Might Become the Anime’s Greatest Addition Yet Because of a Previous Episode in Season 1

This is especially true with the relationship dynamics in the series. Sakamoto and Aoi are a perfect example of this.Romance in Shonenis a rarity considering the consensus of the audience.

It isn’t often praised or well-appreciated but Suzuki redefines it along with his unconventional protagonist. As opposed to bulky and traditional masculine portrayals, we have a rather familiar and relatable protagonist. And there’s more to it.

YES SIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Long waiting for this anime🥰

However, it isn’t Suzuki who is reshaping the shonen genre through his series. Yukinobu Tatsu defies most tropes and stereotypes through his iconic manga.

Dandadanmarks the closure of the Big 3 era

Written by Yukinobu Tatsu,Dandadanisn’t a run-of-the-mill ghost story. From ghosts to aliens, the series captures the essence of the occult and anomalies brilliantly. This is attributed to its exceptional writing and excellent animation.

The color coding and vibrant hues give it a retro vibe along with its old-school romance. It is no surprise that Tatsu is getting his much-deserved acknowledgment and recognition after a series of failures. But that is not all considering its potential to overthrow JUMP’s Big 3.

This is especially true with Tatsu’s characterization of villains and his unique take on romance. The manga is wholesome in its outlining of sensitive themes and events.

From Turbo Granny’s empathy toward women to Acrobatic Silky’s virtues of motherhood, Tatsu outdoes himself. This is especially true with his blending of different genres and elements. Big Three lacks in its wholesome portrayal of women. In this case, Tatsu takes the cake with his manga.
