State of Decay 3is finally not just a dream, but a tangible reality. The game was just featured at the Xbox Games Showcase with a new cinematic trailer, and it looks impeccable.

The 2013 franchise is finally making a return after being announced four years ago at the same showcase. It’s nice to finally see more information on the highly anticipated zombie action-adventure title.

After the chilling 2020 trailer announcement for the new entry to the beloved zombie franchiseamong a bunch of other exciting revealsat the showcase, there are new crumbs of content to finally clamor to.

According to the trailer description:

You can expect some gorey and visceral visuals, as the game is running on the ever-powerful Unreal Engine 5 (which also means, it’s time for an upgrade if you’re playing on PC).

The internet is ecstatic to hear more about theState of Decay 3, which has been synonymous with the zombie survival genre for quite a while now.

Even though the trailer’s appearance on the showcase was leaked just the day before, that doesn’t take away from the excitement of finally seeing it on screen.
The development forState of Decay 3was said to be coming along quite nicely, and one can hope this trend continues and it releases soon.
More State of Decay? Yes, Please!
When the franchise first debuted in 2013 under Undead Labs, it was a hit among critics and players alike. It scored a 9 on VideoGamer.com, 9.5 on Polygon, 8.5 on Destructoid, and so on.
The depth of its survival and role-playing aspects was unmatched at the time, and it really gave players a whole new outlook on the zombie survival genre.

The second game was slightly different; while some facets of the game, like its music and combat, were highly praised, it seemed to miss out on some of the important parts of its previous iteration that made it so beloved by fans.
Nonetheless, it still performed extremely well. It was released in May 2018 and had over a million players. In the months after, it rapidly gained millions of players. By August 2021, it surpassed 10 million.
WithState of Decay3on its way, we can only hope that the game combines the best aspects of both games.
