2024 will mark the first Summer Game Fest that has taken place since the formal demise of E3. With the competition officially dead and buried, the gaming industry staple that is Geoff Keighley now theoretically has a clear run to claim all of the huge announcements for himself. With that being said, we are already aware that 2024 is going to be a quieter year in terms of significant game releases.

In fact, Geoff has actually already attempted to quell the hype levels somewhat through his Q&A, claiming that the show will be an eight out of ten. Although, the tinfoil hat wearers amongst the community have claimed that his statement was nothing more than a cheap ploy to throw audiences off.
Whatever the case may be, we only have a couple of days left to wait before the big show takes place, so without further ado, let’s get on with the following list of predictions for the 2024 Summer Games Fest courtesy of the FandomWire Gaming staff:

A New Bioshock Game Is Revealed By 2K, Possibly Set In Antarctica
WithJudasnow being formally announced and 2K promising a significant presence at the 2024 Summer Games Fest, now seems like the perfect time to show the world the first trailer forBioshock 4.There have been multiple rumorsthat the game will be set in Antarctica, so it will be interesting to see if this proves to be the case.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gameplay Will be Shown
Withthe first proper story trailer forAssassin’s Creed Shadowsdropping earlier this month, it makes a lot of sense that Ubisoft would want to follow that up by showing some gameplay. Although there is a Ubisoft Forward taking place later in June, more eyes will likely be on the 2024 Summer Games Fest, so it would make more sense to show off newACfootage here.

A Release Date is Given for Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero
At the time of writing,a new trailer forDragon Ball: Sparking! Zerojust droppedteasing fans that the game will indeed make an appearance during the 2024 Summer Games Fest. Surely this will mean that fans will get a specific release date to look forward to rather than just seeing that dreaded “wishlist now,” messaged displayed at the end of the trailer yet again.

A Trailer for Tekken 8 DLC Will be Shown
Since Bandai Namco Entertainment is already confirmed to be on the 2024 Summer Games Fest line-up, it would make a lot of sense for the team to use that opportunity to showcase some sort ofTekken 8DLC. Perhaps if we are lucky, we may even see some future Season 1 DLC characters that are planned to release in fall and winter of this year shown off.

A Pokemon Game is Shown Off
Between the fact that Niantic is confirmed to be in attendance, and Game Freak confirming thatPokémon Legends: Z-Ais coming in 2025, Liam’s prediction for the 2024 Summer Games Fest is pretty likely. It would also give the Switch some time in the spotlight, as the Nintendo integration will likely be prominently featured in the trailer shown.

Amazon Games Will Discuss its Tomb Raider Project
Although fans of the series have been waiting six years fora new mainline entry in theTomb Raiderfranchise, things looked a bit ropey when Embracer bought the rights to the series from Square Enix in 2022. However, thankfully Amazon stepped in to strike a deal with Embracer Group to support Crystal Dynamics’ development of the game and act as the new title’s publisher. It would be great to see the actual result of all of those deals in the form of a trailer.

A New Sonic Game Will Make an Appearance
AsSonic Frontierswas Sonic Team’s biggest success, it makes sense that Sega would want to capitalise on that success with a follow up by possibly expanding on the open zone formula established inFrontiers. Geoff Keighley has always had a good relationship with Sega, so getting a look at a new game during the 2024 Summer Games Fest would make sense. We could also get a trailer for the thirdSonicmovie too.

SEGA Will Show the New Crazy Taxi Game
Originally confirmed by SEGA to be a project in development at the 2023 Game Awards, I would love to see a trailer for a newCrazy Taxiat the 2024 Summer Games Fest. I have so much nostalgia for this series and it deserves so much better than to be relegated to the cash-grab mobile games that have made up the latter half of the franchise.

Ever sinceDuskGolem first leaked the fact that a remake of the fondly rememberedResident Evil Code: Veronicawas in development at Capcom, fans of the iconic horror series have been dying to know more. The 2024 Summer Games Fest could be the perfect time to reveal more information and show what effect 24 years of graphical improvements have had on this fan favorite title.

Gameplay Will be Shown for Zenless Zone Zero
HoYoVerse has been promoting the gacha game heavily for the past while leading up to its release next month. The timing of the game’s launch in combination with the confirmed attendance of HoYoVerse make it pretty likely that more gameplay will be shown off during the 2024 Summer Games Fest.

Hotline Miami 3 is Revealed
Considering the way in which 2015’sHotline Miami 2: Wrong Numberended, it seems pretty unfathomable that Dennaton Games would consider developing a third entry in the series. That said,Hotline Miamiis one of the most beloved franchises ever to come from Devolver Digital and the notorious indie publisher is planning to hold its own direct this Friday as part of SGF 2024.

Gameplay Will be Shown for Devolver’s Neva
Nevais a game from the team behindGRIS, initially announced in May of 2023. UnlikeHotline Miami 3, I actually do predict that we will seeNevaduring the Devolver Direct on Friday. Hopefully we will actually get a look at gameplay, giving us an idea of how this title will actually play upon release.

Fable 4 is Shown
The fact thatFable 4still has not been given a confirmed release datemeans that it is unlikely to launch in 2024. Thus, it would make sense for a 2025 release date to be announced for the game during the 2024 Summer Games Fest. The only scenario that may prevent Andy’s prediction from coming true would be if the game was to instead make an appearance at the Xbox Showcase.

Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Gameplay Will be Shown
Astonishingly,Dragon Age: Inquisitionis a decade old this year! Therefore, it is about time we saw some some gameplay from its sequel. While it would be unlikely for Bioware to mention anything regardingMass Effectduring the 2024 Summer Games Fest, Nikola’s prediction thatthe team will want to show off the nextDragon Agetitleseems pretty likely.

Bioware Will Reveal the Next Mass Effect Game
Chad apparently disagrees with my previous statement that it is unlikely for Bioware to mention anything regardingMass Effectduring the 2024 Summer Games Fest. I personally feel that if anything related toMass Effectis mentioned it will be a trailer and potential premiere date for the TV adaptation that Amazon Studios has in development. Still though, seeing a newMass Effectgame would blow some minds.

EA Motive Will Show its Iron Man Game
It has been confirmed that EA will be attending the 2024 Summer Games Fest, combine this with the fact that EA Motive has yet to officially show any footage from its upcoming Marvel tie-in game and now seems like the perfect time. Ever since playing through the revamped zero-G sections in theDead Spaceremake, I have been dying to seehow the flying mechanics will be handled in thisIron Mantitle.

A New Trailer for Marvel 1943 Will be Shown
I actually had to double check with Rouvin that he wasn’t getting hisBlack Panthergames mixed up when he made this prediction. Personally, I think it is far more likely that we’ll get a first trailer for Cliffhanger Games’ previously announcedBlack Panthergame as opposed to moreMarvel 1943footage. I could be wrong, but this seems a bit soon considering thatSkydance just dropped aMarvel 1943trailer at the Future Games Show in March.

A New Prequel Mafia Game Is Revealed By 2K and it Won’t be Called Mafia 4
This was actually my original prediction before Sparsh jumped on it, so yes, I think it is pretty much a lock that we will getthe official announcement ofMafia 4from Hangar 13during the 2024 Summer Games Fest. Hopefully the setting will be confirmed, as previous leaks have suggested thatMafia 4will actually be a prequel to the first three games.

The Next DOOM Game is Announced
We have known that a follow up toDOOM Eternalhas been coming since the infamous Nvidia leak back in 2021. The titleDOOM: Year Zerowas then mentioned during the Microsoft FTC case and recently leaker NateTheHate has claimed thatthe game has been retitledDOOM: The Dark Agesand will be announced at the 2024 Summer Games Fest. Along with this title, it has also been leaked that the game will come to PS5, therefore it is unlikely to be revealed during the Xbox Showcase.

2K Will Announce FIFA 2K25
The rumors that 2K have met with FIFA to purchase the video game license that EA recently lost have been permeating for a while now. With 2K supposedly having a pretty significant presence at the 2024 Summer Games Fest, it would make sense that this would be the time to come out with the announcement and show the first trailer on the world stage.

A Trailer for Borderlands 4 Will be Shown
Speaking of 2K’s significant presence at this year’s show,it would make a lot of sense forBorderlands 4to appear. This would tie in with the hype that the studio is attempting to build for the upcoming movie too. ShowingMafia 4, Borderlands 4andFIFA 2K25in the one show would be a lot though, but even seeing two out of the three would be appreciated.

Naughty Dog Will Reveal The Last of Us Part 3
Fans have been wondering what Naughty Dog is working on sinceThe Last of Us Factionswas unceremoniously cancelledand Neil Druckmann did recently tease that multiple single player experiences are in development at the studio. Could one of these beThe Last of Us Part 3? Probably, but I personally don’t see it being revealed at the 2024 Summer Games Fest.

Hyper Light Breaker Will Get a Release Date
The successor toHyper Light Driftergot previewed in March and is slated for release at some point in late 2024. The 2024 Summer Games Fest seems like the perfect time to finally come out with a release date for the highly anticipated roguelike along with a new trailer showing off the stunning art direction featured in these games.

The Witcher 4 Will Get a Trailer
CD Projekt Red did recently state that nobody at the studio is working onCyberpunk: 2077any longer, thus it would be good to see what the developers are currently making.Showing a trailer forThe Witcher 4would satisfy this curiosity, however I doubt that Geoff would show trailers for both a newWitchergame andDragon Age: Dreadwolfduring the same show, and I thinkDragon Ageis the more likely candidate.

Shattered Space DLC Will be Shown for Starfield
While I dovery much believe thatStarfieldDLC will be shown at some point over the coming weekend, I wonder if there may be more chance of seeing a trailer for it during the Xbox Showcase on Monday as opposed to the Summer Games Fest on Friday. Geoff has always had a good relationship with Todd Howard though, so I could certainly see this getting a slot on the show.

One Last Push for Elden Ring DLC
With the highly anticipatedElden RingDLCShadow of the Erdtreefinally dropping later this month, it would make sense that Bandai Namco would want to give it one last big promotional push prior to its launch. With how feral soulslike fans go for any new info on this project, it would likely receive a pretty welcome reception.

Alan Wake 2 DLC Will be Revealed
June reckons that it is time to officially announce the inevitableAlan Wake 2story DLC and I have a sneaking suspicion that she may be correct.Given how well the horror sequel was received when it dropped last year, it is a fair bet that fans of the game are still hungry for more. Perhaps we may also get a physical release for the game with the DLC bundled in.
